General Information

Ms. Hackman - Second Grade

I can be reached via phone before and after school. My extension is #33. If you get into the answering system, please leave me a message and I will return your call as soon as possible.  Please be aware that I check my email and phone messages during break times only, which may not be until the end of the day.  If you have an urgent need, please contact the office.  You can also send me an e-mail by clicking the small envelope next to my name below.

Arrival and Dismissal

  • School starts at 7:50.  Your student should be lined up outside near the door for the first-grade/second-grade wing.  Your student should not come in through the school’s front doors unless your student is five or more minutes tardy.
  • Dismissal is at 2:50.  Your student will exit through the doors from the first-grade/second-grade wing.  You can pick up your student outside that door, or you may drive to the appropriate parking lot (lot A or lot B) in order to pick up your student.

Visiting GCE

Always enter through the front of the school.  Stop at the office and get a GCE Visitors Badge.

Missing Assignments

If a student misses school, they will have two days for every day absent (starting the day after their return) to make up the work.

Field Trips

You will receive a flyer in the Thursday folder anytime we are going on a field trip.  You will be given details and asked to sign permission for your child to attend.  You will also be able to volunteer to attend with your child.  Siblings are not allowed on field trips.  Second grade generally goes on two field trips a year.
