General Information

Ms. Stoller-Lee - Second Grade

Welcome! I am very excited to be teaching at Gold Camp this year!! This is my sixth year teaching. Before beginning my journey at Gold Camp, I taught 2nd and 3rd grade at a charter school in town. I grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from The University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Elementary Education.

In my free time I enjoy watching movies, listening to music, painting, feeding the giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and spending time with my friends and family.

I am looking forward to getting to know each of my star students, helping them grow, and working together to reach their full potential!

How to get ahold of Ms. Stoller-Lee?

I can be reached via phone before and after school, and sometimes at lunch. My extension is #57. If you get into the answering system please leave me a message. Please be aware that I check my email and phone messages during break times only, which may not be until the end of the day.  If you have an urgent need, please contact the office. You can also send me an e-mail by clicking the small envelope next to my name below:

Arrival and Dismissal

  • School starts at 7:50.  Your student should be lined up outside near the door for the first-grade/second-grade wing.  Your student should not come in through the school’s front doors unless your student is five or more minutes tardy.
  • Dismissal is at 2:50.  Your student will exit through the doors from the first-grade/second-grade wing.  You can pick up your student outside that door, or you may drive to the appropriate parking lot (lot A or lot B) in order to pick up your student.
  • If your second grade student has a younger sibling in first or kindergarten at Gold Camp, please pick your kids up in the Lower Lot/Lot B (this is where you picked them up in first grade). If your second grade student is an only child at Gold Camp or has older siblings, third grade-sixth grade that attend Gold Camp you will pick them up in the Upper Lot/Lot A (the parking lot in the front of the school).

Classroom News

September News!

We have been busy starting into the routine of the year. We will start Reading centers September 18th. If you want to volunteer, please see my email about the link to sign up. We have started learning about the Life Cycle of Butterflies. Your child gets to raise a caterpillar through the 4 stages in the classroom. We are learning different ways to add and subtract in Math. Check your child's planner for daily news.

Planners are filled out each day at school with the homework for the night. In second grade we have Reading, Math, and Spelling homework. Please sign your name in your child's planner at the bottom next to the 5 stars. I check the planner each day. If you have a concern or question emailing me is the best way to contact me though.

The spelling homework is weekly. The child is to practice the spelling words listed on the spelling worksheet and use the worksheet for review. The spelling worksheet is not to be turned in, but the child should be ready for the test each Friday.

Reading homework will be reading for 20 minutes each night. The student will get to bring library books home to read, but second grade classroom books don't come home like they did in first grade.

Math homework is listed daily. Please rip out the appropriate math page and do both sides. The homework is due the next day. On Fridays the lesson is due on Tuesday. You may choose to complete Fridays lesson over the weekend and only have Mondays lesson to do on Monday night, or you can decide to have Fridays and Mondays lesson to do Monday night. Both will be due Tuesday regardless of when you decide to do them.

The planner should be coming back to school each day. If it comes home on a long holiday, please send it back to school when break is over.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Parent-Teacher Communication

Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled two times a year.  Check your GCE calendar for exact dates.

You are encouraged to arrange additional meetings with your child’s teacher as needed throughout the school year.

Missing Assignments

If a student misses school, they will have two days for every day absent (starting the day after their return) to make up the work.
